1924 Edward VIII Portrait Trial Uniface Medal, 101mm

£450.00

Portrait medal of Edward, Prince of Wales (later Edward VIII), struck in 1924 by the Cameograph Company after Henry Edmunds for the Earl Haig British Legion Appeal.

Large bronze uniface medal, 101mm in diameter, and extremely rare.

The Edmunds effigy was later adopted by Pinches from 1926 to 1935 and subsequently used on numerous commemorative Edward VIII issues.

Original Edward VIII exonumia is seldom encountered. Given his brief reign, surviving contemporary pieces are scarce, and examples of this type appear to have been produced in very limited numbers.

A highly desirable and historically significant medal.
